Flavor was pretty bland, with mainly notes of caramel and nut in the profile. Overall, not really that good for a brown. Headbanger (1598), Aurora, Illinois, USA

Aroma of light bread, caramel, malts, and a little nut. Taste is of malt and a little caramel. This light bodied brew is a bit weak but still quite drinkable. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Apr 12, 2009 12 oz bottle courtesy of a sixpack provided by my girlfriend’s brother on Easter. Free new beer.. Can’t beat that. Pours a lighter iced tea brownish hue with big offwhite bubbly head that dissipates to a small amount and laces a bit. Aromas are muted, light brown sweet malts with a touch of nut, brown sugar, and not much else. Initial is light, a little to light in body with some water and a touch of syrupy sweetness. A touch of nut, water, not too great of a taste, with a touch of biscuit. Fairly dissappointed in this, sessionable, but lacking any desire to do so. Ehhhh. Wouldn’t purchase this. Cheers.. I guess.. jbuzz (661), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Mar 15, 2009 My bottle was under the Point brand, not James Page. Not sure if the recipe has changed. Poured a medium brown with a thick, frothy head and a seemingly high level of carbonation. It’s definitely an ale, though, and there’s enough of a malt profile to bring out the sweet, nutty taste you’d expect of the style. There’s a hazelnut note in there somewhere. Body is quite thin for the style, but it’s almost a plus because this beer is very drinkable. I had two and easily could’ve had more. Certainly not the best example of this style, but it would make a good session beer. Cheers to point for finally making a good dark ale, even if it was through acquisition rather than creation. pj1855 (157), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
