Not special in anyway, but not significantly lacking in any way for me to have any negative comments on it. ketchepillar (480), Viña del Mar, Chile
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 2, 2007 Amber/brown color with a thin mostly disappearing head. Aroma: Hops are surprisingly strong. Soft yet spicy, and sprucy hops. A bit of a poor malt smell in there. Taste: Lively carbonation; hops have a pretty strong presence in the taste as well; a bit of nuttiness but not much. Again, not great malt flavor. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 24, 2007 12 oz. twisted-off bottle, no freshness date, sampled in a pint glass.
Poured a clear orangey amber with a nice size off-white head that slowly settled into a creamy foam lacing, pretty much looks like your standard domestic brown ale.
A nondescript malt aroma, just touches of toasted malts, a little powdery earth. If you try hard enough, you can smell hints of cocoa way out at the edges.
Creamy light bodied mouthfeel makes this brown ale quite easy to consume. Lightly roasted malts, mild caramel and dry cocoa, there is also subtle fruitiness in the middle. Not much in the way of any hop tastes, only a soft spiciness at the end. I do like the dry lightly roasted nuttiness that emerges in finish, that and a little sweet pale maltiness linger a bit in the aftertaste.
I like the American Brown Ale style, but I found this to be a barely average one. I’m afraid the cheap price for a six would be it’s overall recommending quality. Hammster (187), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 30, 2007 Bottle. Dark and rich rad pour with a smallish off-white head. Kind of a funky roasted nut and stale/bland chocolate smell--not very pleasant. Flavor is better. Strong roasted flavor of caramel and nuts. Hops is evident late in the aftertaste. A very uninteresting beer. mlroseplant (12), Indianola, Iowa, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 16, 2007 (Bottle) This is a clear amber/reddish color. Head disappears within seconds. Not too heavy on the tongue--you can slam this stuff if you’re so inclined. This is not bad, but really, I can’t really come up with words to describe the taste. To me, there is not much of a taste to this, only a little bit of bitterness. If this is on sale, I will probably buy it again, but if not, I probably won’t. alexsdad06 (1081), Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 28, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head that rapidly diminshes into a thin crown. The aroma had slight herbal notes along with sweet caramel. The flavor was sweet caramel with a hint of chocolate and a shot of hoppy bitterness. This is a light bodied, easy drinking beer. The finish is sweet but on the dry side. Not bad. jcr (1153), Jasper, Indiana, USA

Aroma is slightly nutty and slightly sweet hinting of caramel. The flvaor is midly bitter with some sweet backbone. Grainy flavor in the finish. Dry. Simple and just OK. bu11zeye (5470), Frisco, Texas, USA
