I was somewhat impressed with this beer. It has a rather unique flaver with a hint of citrus.

I really enjoyed this extra pale ale. Had a sweet flavor, but not too sweet, lots of orange citrus-y flavor, which really sits well with me. Enjoyable, will get this one again, if I can.

In the bottle at the Hy Vee Oktoberfest beer tasting 2008. Bottle reads "Extra Pale Ale." Deep amber in color with a slightly off white head. Has a pleasant hop aroma with orange citrus notes. The flavor is a bit lame. Watery. No stand out tastes. The finish is somewhat tart, but not bitter. There’s nothing "extra" about this beer.

Bottle. Nice amber pour with a smallish head. Aroma is more malty than other pale ales. Pretty dry taste with roasted malt notes. The hops comes through in the flavor. Little too much malt in the flavor but overall a decent pale ale. The finish was crisp, dry but the flavor lingered nicely.

12 oz bottle purchased at John’s Grocery in Iowa City. Poured a clear copper color. The two-finger-tall white head dissipated quickly to a thin film that hung around a while, but didn’t leave any lace. Aroma was of fresh malty cereal grain and a touch of caramel. There was also some husky steeped barley in the nose. Dry on the tongue up front with some delicate sweetness coming out in the middle and lingering. Pleasant malty caramel and toffee flavors. No assertive malt flavor, just a tease. I tried this side-by-side with Nøgne pale ale. Surprisingly, I preferred the James Page.

12 oz btl thanks to alexsdad06 in a hand off trade. A deep copper pour with a hint of an off white head. More malt on the nose than anything else. A flavor that is smooth and malty with a decent finishing bitter. The mouthfeel is not foamy or fizzy but just off. As I finished this beer I changed my flavor from a 5 to a 6 just because it began to grow on me. A decent beer that is just a step away from being damn good.

Light hoppy nose that was much better than expected. Watery light hop body.

The aroma starts with promising hops but there isn’t enough there. Flavor is similiar. The hops taste good but the flavor is far too light. Best described as a light pale ale.
