I don’t even know how to rate this. It was not bad. Just odd. I kept looking at the bottle as i was drinking it. Like it was going say some thing to me... I found it sour and kind of dry. And odd.

Interesting wit aroma, but not strongly spicy. Hazy golden color with no significant head. Near medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is light citrus, very mild yeast, and wheatishness. The finish is reasonably dry. It’s refreshing. It’s drinkable. It just doesn’t make a definite statement.

Below average. From the bottle, in a shaker. Pours a cloudy pale yellow, with a thin head that disappeared but remained in an amoeba-like shape in the top surface of the fluid. Faint aroma of malt and yeast, faint flavor, thin mouthfeel. I don’t like thick wheats (see New Glarus Dancing Man), but this goes too far the other way. Not even a hint of citrus or coriander or banana or anything else that’s usually in a wheat. Not sure what to make of this, but it ain’t tasty.

In the bottle at the Hy Vee Oktoberfest beer tasting 2008. Very pale cloudy yellow in color with a medium white head. There’s not much aroma here. Has a slight ester flavor- a bit banana-like, but not so strong as a real wit. The flavor is somewhat absent. The beer whimpers off without leaving much of an impression.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, MN. Pours a semi-clear golden blonde brew with a fast dissolving white head that leave behind only a fine film. Very little ring and no lacing. Aroma of light white bread, some honey and a sweet orange zest. Taste is light bodied, very carbonated with a bready pineapple and orange flavor. Finish is light, crisp and a little watery. Aftertaste has some citrus flavor but very short lived.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a medium sized white head that rapidly fizzes away to nothing. The aroma was faint at best and included hints of citrus, banana, and wheat. There was also something almost artificial but I can’t put my finger on it. The flavor is much of the same, not present in strong enough quantities. Some citrus and wheat. Thin mouthfeel. This is average at best.

Pours a light honey color with a soapy head and lots of carbonation. The foam fades quickly. Aroma resembles coriander but doesn’t quite reach it. A chemical aroma emerges instead. Like the aroma, flavor comes somewhat close to the classic wheat tastes but falls short. Feel is thin in the mouth. This is not a well crafted beer. White Ox should have a red face.

12 oz bottle. Poured a clear golden color. Head was white and quickly reduced to a thin film. Looked like a pale lager. Aroma and flavor were similar consisting of light malty caramel and a hint of citrus fruit. Average non offensive beer.
