I like it myself and think it’s very clean, refreshing and a good exapmle of wheat all around. As wheat is my favorite basically I am picky as to what I like sometimes. This one is good. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA

Pours a slight hazed light yellowish murky color with no lasting head. Smell is fruity malt, citrusy with a touch of oranges perhaps. Medium bodied with nice prickly carbonation. No real strong wheat flavor, but refreshing and simple. Good for a hot day, and much better than the reviews indicated, I thought. Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 13, 2005 The James Page Brewing Company, formerly of Minneapolis, MN, is now being produced at Stevens Point, Wisconsin, though it’s ties to Minnesota traditions and lore remain. This beer, for instance, is named for the hitherto un-heard-of albino cousin of Paul Bunyan’s pal, Babe the Blue Ox. Learn something new every day.
First glance at the label and package suggested a witbier, but after tasting and reading the label ("Brewed with a special blend of select barley malts, white wheat, and a hint of citrus, this American Frontier unfiltered wheat ale is spirited and refreshing, embracing the passion of the American pioneer."), it seems not exactly what they were creating. So, American pale wheat ale it is.
Pale, faded yellow appearance, nearly... white?, with a sturdy, but surely diminishing layer of puffy foam above.
Aroma is thick with yeast, citrus-y esters, yet a slightly sour, and peppery turn. A little funky. (The turntable is spinning ’70’s Herbie Hancock, so I’m kept in the proper mood.)
Taste: light on the palate, quenching, easily swallowed, with a decent enough twang. There’s an unpleasant sourness that shouldn’t belong in this if they are trying to get a classic witbier, a particular peculiarity that takes away from full enjoyment. Less crisp and tangy, more murky and dissonant.
Not bad, though. Drinks ever so nice, despite those quibbles. Light bodied, with a light, fruity finish. Moderate hops, smooth malt. A very passable pale wheat ale.
I can drink it, and so can you.
Reminds me a bit of Oberon, actually. Not bad at all.

Semi cloudy light yellow with no lasting head or lacing. Smells like roasted oranges and honey but is mild overall. Flavor is lemon and a touch of that soapy dishwater taste sticks around. Thin and a bit too watery for me. KSS (102), Plymouth, Minnesota, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 8, 2006 Bottle, Very pale yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of Wonder bread with a lemon in the background, like in an adjoining room. Very clean bready malt flavor with a hint of citrus and a little wheat tang. Virtually no hop bitterness. I didn’t notice the corn. Not any more unbalanced or subdued than Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat, which gets much friendlier reviews. I would probably drink this in summer if it wasn’t part of a variety pack. TheBeerOrg (1584), Kentucky, USA

Aroma of citrus, honey, and grainy pale malt. Tastes of toasted pale malt, orange peal, light yeastiness. Light bodied with lively carbonation. Below average, and certainly doesn’t look unfiltered to me.
