Pure Ambrosia! Rich and Bold. This full-bodied Ale is sure to carry you through those crisp winter months. Deep in hue derived from distinctive two-row malts. It tantalizes with an ethereal fruitiness finish vigorously with a pronounced hop character.

Slikwily sent me this brew in July. Sounds like he is directly or indirectly responsible for 7 of this beer's 11 ratings so far. I didn't have the heart to drink it until the weather got cold. Aroma is a hoppy molasses, not unlike a barleywine. Reddish amber in color with some tangential yellows. Very attractive. Avg.-sized off-white head. Good lace. Decent falvor but undercarbonated. not sure if that is by design or if it just didn't stand up to the test of time. I'm guessing it was brewed for Winter 2002. Some bourbon cask notes. Lacks sweetness and punch. Initial mouthfeel is promising but the finish is a little thin.

Glowing amber. Medium head, with decent retention. Aromas of winter spice,english/german malts, and just lightly hoppy. Mouthfeel is soft and thick. Texture is silky, near watery. Really malty, slightly spicy flavors. Malts are earthy and fruity. Finish is malty and crisp with hops(Cascades I belive??). Pretty good!

Pours a dark copper with a thin off-white head. Aroma is loaded with caramel malt and some spice. Body has a good amount of hoppy bitterness and enough caramel sweetness to balance. Finishes bitter and dry. Had no idea this was 8% abv. A nice winter warmer, thanks slikwily.

List this as a pale ale or an IPA and it would due well. Amber colored, small head. Aroma of hops and carmel. Mouthfeel is typical for a pale ale, medium bodied, and slightly oily. Finish is somewhat dry. I would have never guessed it was 8%, alcohol well hidden. Thanks Slikwily!

I´d say this brew was huge dissapointment. Very much like "double bastard" IMO. Like Eirikur said, when it hits the tongue it´s quite good but after that far from being good..

355ml bottle. I was actually a bit disapointed after i finished this brew. The beer was good first in the mouth but the taste fainted very quickly. Very little smoky aftertaste.

Citrus, Grapefruit & hoppy aroma. A very unique beer. I wish it finished a little crisper but overall a solid beer.

Big malty nose and flavor, though some considerable hops appear as it warms. Not ridiculously complex, it is a big malty ale. Categorizing this one is tough--not quite a barleywine. Alcohol well hidden. Not bad. Thanks a lot Slikwily.
