Bottle, bought @ Systembolaget, Strömstad. Pours a very bubbly pale amber with a big bubbly off white head. Aroma has loads of complexity - some roasted, some smoke, some dirt and a citric hoppyness. Flavour is surprisingly smoky or more likely ashy. A bit metallic as well. A powerful dose of citric bitterness hits me at the end. Well... this is miles ahead of other pale lagers, but still this isn’t as good as it could be. There are maltyness in there that is perhaps meant to disguise off-flavours, but it still isn’t too fantastic.

Big coarseish offwhite shiny head. Reddish coppery body. Harmonic roasty malt aroma with notes of smoke, metal, earth, and hops. Dry smoky earthy taste of peas and malts, beautifully balanced and harmonic. Dry malty finish. Very good! (0.5l bottle from Systembolaget Stockholm.)

Aroma of hops with the slightest whiff of alcohol. Mildly nutty flavour, full in the mouth with some hoppiness in the finish.

500 ml bottle. Glowing amber golden colour. Crystal clear. Tall white coarse head. Bold grainy and malt aroma balanced by a sharp grassy hop aroma. Notes of straw. Crisp malt flavours. The texture is somewhat powdery. There is a slight astringent flavour in the finish. Lots of hop flavours, but they are a bit sharp. Not a favourite lager, but decent. It could have done without the grainy astringency though.

Pale amber, clear body mounted by a fair white head. Very grainy and fairly toasty malt character comes across with a certain hard to pinpoint fruitiness. Almost biscuity in its revealings. Rich malts and they are complemented by generous hops, mostly floral. The mixtures makes it indeed rather fruity for a lager, almost apricot-like, but all clean. Round palate, ale-like in size and hop proportions. Audacious. Another low-profile star in the atypical and cohesive Jämtlands lineup.

Bottle. Pours wonderful amber, slightly hazy, with medium creamy off-white head. Solid malt character with some dried fruits and light toffee notes, along with herbal and citrusy hops. Medium bodied and smooth. Very dry and bitter finish, with some acidity.

Bottle from trade with lagomswedish, thanks buddy this was actually a big surprise both on delivery and tasting! Initial appearance was very impressive with a huge fizzy white head that lasted forever. Body was clear and sparkling with a light amber color. Aroma was a wonderful palette of hoppy and malty notes. Some grain, fruit, spicy, caramel and light elder flower like notes is present in nose. Medium bodied with a dry texture and a lively carbonation. Flavor was light bitter with notes of sweetness. Finish was at first dry and slightly bitter. But somehow the bitterness turns into a lovely caramel sweet aftertaste that lingers in the mouth for a long time. Excellent stuff as you promised Darren!

rbesg06, on tap at plain kitchen. i dunno, i couldn’t get too excited about jamtlands, maybe they used to be better. this had a dusty aroma, easy smooth texture and moderate bitterness, not a whole lot to make it stand out from a typical lager
