Pours a semi-clear golden pale colored brew with an average sized off-white head that slowly dissipates to a thin white ring and leaves behind some spotty lacing. Aroma of powdered raspberry koolaide® with a hint of golden grain malt. Flavor is light to medium bodied, a tad sweet with raspberry extract, golden grain malt, a touch of wheat and some white bread. Finish continued the powdered raspberry flavor then a crisp finish that quickly disappears. CharlesDarwin (1859), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 28, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Pours a light hazed orange, with a thin rim of white above. Cloying candy and Christian book
store aroma. Perfumed, overly sweet-smelling, and buttery. Flavor is a bit of sickly, wheat
and raspberry candy. This is firmly backed with a disgusting wash of old-person candy-store
dust, leftover easter candy and grade-school teacher perfume. Ick. This shouldn’t be allowed
to be called beer. Not ridiculous sweet, but the raspberry sugar mars the whole profile of
this beer, from start to finish. I guess I won’t be trying the Blueberry Wheat here. Silphium (2152), Haslett, Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 13, 2007 On tap at the brewery. Cloudy, dirty light orange-brown body, thin off-white head. Raspberry nose, not much else. Light, creamy palate, the bready wheat and earthy, dull esters balanced nicely by the raspberry extract. I much prefer this to the blueberry version, though it is a bit weird to rate a beer differently based on the extract. Ah, well. chriso (4852), London, Greater London, England
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 28, 2007 On tap at the brewpub, Ishpeming MI. Pale yellow colour with a very faint haze. Lasting white head with insistent carbonation. Soft, fragrant raspberry aroma. The underlying beer seems rather bland so the raspberry flavour comes through quite strongly even though it isn’t the most intense. Unfortunately, the mouthfeel was a little soapy. Not too sweet.
