BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA Aug 3, 2009 Draft at First Gold Casino Deadwood - This beer is seriously the most godawful thing I have ever tried, and I mean worse than Cave Creek. This seriously tastes like pickle juice. A strong vegetal character that folllows every sip and I only got two sips into the glass before screaming at the bartender about having an infected keg OD40oz (600), Box Elder, South Dakota, USA Nov 29, 2008 I had this brew on tap at a topless lounge/casino. Dark golden in color. It had somewhat of a citrusy nose. It had a rough aftertaste which caused me to switch back to Moosehead after just one. I’m not a fan of Jesse James and I’m not a fan of his beer either. Someone should teach him how to bend a hat brim. heemer77 (4294), Savannah, Missouri, USA Aug 19, 2008 On tap at the Yardhouse in Legends, KCK. The body was cloudy dark gold with a bright white head. The aroma was oranges and lemon zest. There was also some fresh bread dough. The taste was tart with lemon zest. There was also some vegetable character that goes clear through to the finish. Decent. Indra (2018), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Nov 8, 2006 12oz. bottle. Aroma features plenty of wheat malt, soft and lightly sweet with accents of lemon, doughy yeast and hay, some lightly crackery maltiness here as well. Hazy pale golden yellow color with grains of sediment dusting the bottom of the glass and a fine, creamy head. Flavor is lightly honeyish, sweet and faintly citric, the wheat becoming most noticeable at the close where it lingers and provides some true American wheat style character. Mildly tangy and bitter background. Smoothly creamy and effervescent mouthfeel. Perhaps simply constructed but very drinkable. Maybe I was just happy it wasn’t a Pale Lager.
