yngwie (3529), Kristiansand, Norway May 4, 2008 Bottle, 75cl at the Belgian Embassy. It poured a slightly unclear, golden body, with a small, white head. Herbal, grassy aroma with a touch of garlic, leaving the malt in the far back. There’s some malty sweetness in the flavor, but it’s mostly like the aroma, herbal and grassy. The garlic is more evident in the mouth. Medium body. The finish has a nice bitterness. I’ve heard horror-stories about homebrew with garlic. Well, this one proves it is certainly possible to make a nice beer with garlic. What is really annoying is that I didn’t understand that it was garlic until the company representative told me so. Then suddenly all pieces fell in place. I figure a well-seasoned and well-garliced leg of lamb would be a nice treat with this one. (080410)
BoBoChamp (649), Gent, Belgium Jul 28, 2008 33cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex brew, balanced, hazy, good head, nice brew Beer_2000 (1195), Kristiansand, Norway Apr 27, 2008 330 ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, golden body with a small, dense white head. Moderate aroma of malt and a hint of spices. Flavor is fruity, malty with a hint of spices. Well balanced, not particular sweet and nothing indicating the high alcohol level. I’m found of garlic, but had a big trouble identifying this flavor. Nice, but to anonymous. Ole_R (1194), Oslo, Norway Apr 16, 2008 Bottle. Mostly lasting white head upon a hazy yellow-golden body. Distinct herbal aroma with some fairly sweet malts. Notes of acidolous fruits. Medium sweet flavors, wheats, and fruitiness from lemon and green apples. Some spicy/herbal notes from the garlic is lurking in the background. Medium body. Spices, dry fruits and a delicate bitterness in the finish. Rune (1653), Tromsø, Norway Apr 14, 2008 Biobier sampled from a bottle at BBF in Oslo. Slightly foggy, golden body under a lasting, white head. Sweet spicy aroma. Organic hops and rich herbal-spicy taste where a light note of garlic can detected. Fruity and yeasty ending. Medium to full bodied. Masked alcohol (10.04.2008)
