| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 1, 2006 A yellow beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of both straw and malt, while the flavor is plainly sweet malty, leading to an alcoholic ind. A very simple bock - too simple for my liking. Medium-bodied and malty with both a solid bitterness and alcohol in the finish. Rather classical Maibock. 250606 EithCubes (2169), Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 6, 2006 Bottle. Deep golden / light amber pour, bubbly but ephemeral white head. Smells sweet and malty, slightly vinous/grapey and herby. Unusual taste, can definitely detect the jeverian influence. Somewhere between a weak bock and a weak Jever pils, having discarded the best qualities of both. Strong alcohol, though it’s reasonably well-hidden. The bock fruitiness is subdued in favor of light herbiness. Very soft mouthfeel, long and warming final bitterness. Thanks pivnizub! joss (3686), Garching b. München, Germany

It has the Jever hop aroma allright, under that there is a far more fat malt smell than in the regular pilsner.
Amber, fine pearling carbonation, low head.
Chewy malt body, alcohol detectable, offset by dry bittering hops. Ramps down pretty quickly, bitter finish with a bit less staying power than with the pils.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 14, 2006 Bottle. Pours to a golden amber with a medium sized white, frothy head that lasts quite a while. Aroma of malt, slightly fruity and alcoholic. The mouthfeel is a bit oily, medium carbonation. THe flavor starts with a sweet malt that turns into an increasing bitterness and finishes dry and hoppy. A standard Bock beer in my opinnion, neither bad nor overly exciting. pivnizub (5089), Bochum, Porúří, Germany

A well made, hearty Bock............
