Commercial Description:
Unique in taste. The secret lies in the water, which is still taken from the same well used well over 100 years ago. The water from our well is unusually pure and soft. That allows us to add a touch more hops to create the Friesian-bitter taste that distinguishes Jever Pilsner from any other beer.

Bottle green, 500 ml
Appearance: Pours beautifyl sunny, shiny, bright gold body with nice saturation and very impressive carbonation consisting visually of a small bubbles, body is clear in texture with intensive thick, pure, clean and snowy white, dense and compact head, giving nice lacing. Head is initially huge in size, slowly decreasing to medium. Very impressive in overall visuall impression. Really impressive lacing.
Aroma: Very pure and clean grainy, all malt, soft background, very pure lemony to lime, citrusy, slightly cardboardy - dusty classical German Pilsener aroma, very soft, gentle and inspiring. No skunkness despite the green bottle.
Flavour: Very nice upfront highly and essentially bitter and dry astringent hoppy front, later on in the clear aftertaste there are mineral, graphite, chalky and barley notes, almost something like grind barley grains, very citrusy, vitamine C, very natural, strong, highly aromatic hoppyness, perfectly brewed pilsener, unforgetable experience, really impressive. Finish duration is long and aromatic herbal hoppy.
Palate: Body is light, texture is dry, carbonation on palate is quite high, finish feel is chalky with notes of graphite and highly to heavy astringent, some minerality.

Bottle. Aroma is bitter hops, citrus. Flavor is actually very hoppy for a pilsner. Definitly the best German Pilsner I’ve had. Basically because there is actually something going on here. Still with a low rating, as I don’t like this type of beer

Tap. Still one of the most extreme Pilsener beers I know of. It is very spicy, harshly bitter, fairly aromatic and harsh hops. Key is to have it fresh.

On tap. Good lacing. Neutral aroma and appearance. Nothing to write home about. Tad of hops, lawnmower.

(6/19/08) Draught at Sophie’n Eck in Berlin. Clear golden color with a medium stable white head. Aroma of grassy hops. A rather hoppy and bitter flavor with nice hops grassiness and lighter malty tones. Medium-bodied. A nice Pils.
