Commercial Description:
Unique in taste. The secret lies in the water, which is still taken from the same well used well over 100 years ago. The water from our well is unusually pure and soft. That allows us to add a touch more hops to create the Friesian-bitter taste that distinguishes Jever Pilsner from any other beer.

A decent pilsner but nothing special. Maybe it’s because I’m somewhat indifferent to German pilsners and usually prefer wheat beers but I wasn’t really impressed. The taste was crisp but a little too bitter. I can’t find this beer anywhere in SoCal but maybe if I find myself back in Niedersachsen sometime I’ll have another one.

Bottle. Pours pale clear yellow, white head. Aroma is wheat, grass, hops skunkiness. Flavor is hoppy, wheaty, grassy, and crisp. This is a good pilsener.

Hops prevail, malt hardly detectable. Like most German Pilsners, this one has been leaned out over time (50 years that I have known it) to the point where it is not a sipping but a thirst-quenching, but still buzz-inducing, high-quality hops beverage.

Cask @ Beer Circus, Croydon. Pours a pale yellow beer. Nose of honey and yeast. Quite bitter with a consistent taste. Certainly better than a Bud or a Stella.

Pale straw colour. Thin white head. Aroma of pale malt, light straw aroma. There is a bit of floral/earthy bitterness. A little bit salty and minerally. Herbal bitterness and very crisp. A whiff of sulfur and a crisp bitterness on the back.

Die Flasche wie bei allen Jever-Bieren sehr schlicht. "Friesig-herb" - das trifft voll zu. Herb ist es, aber nicht unangenehm, das kann man schon trinken.

Pours golden with a white head. Aroma has a very light hoppishness. Flavor is mild with a lttle bit of hops and a mild finish.

Clear golden with a mid size white head. Curse these green bottles! Big skunky aroma. Corn, light sweet malts, and some earth. Slightly thin and well carbonated body. Mildly bitter, some hop and malt flavors, with a touch of sweetness. Finish has a little bitter bite. Wish I could have had a less skunky bottle.
