Commercial Description:
Unique in taste. The secret lies in the water, which is still taken from the same well used well over 100 years ago. The water from our well is unusually pure and soft. That allows us to add a touch more hops to create the Friesian-bitter taste that distinguishes Jever Pilsner from any other beer.

Bottle. I know I’ve enjoyed this a few times before poured draught into a plastic cup at the Gowanus Yacht Club on some warm nights, but don’t remember any of the real finer features. Here, from a bottle, it pours a light lagery gold with a moussy white head. Initial "skunky" musty/dusty aroma common in the imported green bottles dissipates eventually in the glass to a fresher straw and light hop aroma. Flavor of straw to light cereal malts with some decent lemon-pith hoppy bitteness in the back. Where available, it’s a fairly good choice for an imported German. However, nothing really distinctive from say, Pilsner Urquell or Paulaner Pils.

Draft...Golden color, strong aroma, full bodied taste. THe best Pils I’ve ever tasted. I usually prefer darker beers, but this is a very full bodied taste that fits my preference.

pretty refreshing classic german lager but very average overall... the bitter taste is about the only thing that differentiates it from other german macrobrews

Berlin Trip beer No. 24. Draft. Golden body, big fluffy head, strong lacing on the glass. Flavour has strong malt and hops, some caramel sweetness and burnt orange peel. Long slightly bitter finish. Aonther Pils that is a specialist beer in the UK, but is 65c a bottle and on tap in every other cafe in Berlin!

Pale looking beer with fairly thick, tight white head. Quite a strong hop aroma. It’s fresh, clean and a litter bitter with quite some hop and dry cereal notes. Very clean on the pallet and very refreshing.

First time I’ve seen this in the beer store. Green 12 oz bottle and when you pop the lid there are hints of vegatable boiled cabbage, sharp at first. Pour is like any other ubiquitous american lager. In the glass, the aroma becomes much more acceptable and clean. Taste is slightly bitter pilsner that build slowly to a medium bitterness. A more oppressive pilsner, like most of the ones considered ’good’. A mild beer with a building climax of a back in throat bitterness. Good average carbonation and it is welcomed. Personally I like pilsners that are a little laid back, but then would it be a pilsner? Warsteiner Premium Verum is much more acceptable than this as far as bitter impressions go. On par with DAB, St. Paulie and Bittburger.

Bottle. Strong and heavy hoppy, grass, light citrus, slight hint of soured milk. Small white head, frothy, mostly dimishing, a yellow clear body. Heavy bitterness, finishing flavor is medium bitter, a long duration. Medium body, vey dry texture and lively carbonation. A very tasty pilsener

ENJOYED ON TAP AT 9TH AVE FOOD FESTIVAL NYC 2005. WATERY AND REFRESHING. SOFT AND BARELY CREAMY/OILY. PEPPERY FROM THE VEGETABLE NOT THE SPICE. PERHAPS RED? TASTE OF LATE SUMMER BURNT GRASS. CLEAN BITTER FINISH WHICH UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES IS QUITE SUITABLE. TINY TIGHT BUBBLES THAT ARE A HIGHLIGHT HERE. EEEHHH OK.
