I’m usually not a big fan of the pilseners, but this was actually pretty good. The hops work their magic here, like Penn & Teller. Panzerfaust (401), Santiago, Chile
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 22, 2006 Clear yellow Pilsener with a big white bubbly head that shows medium retention. Great aroma of hops with notes of flowers, herbs and grass over slightly grainy touches. Flavor is complex for the style with soft sweet and acid notes under a strong bitter initial flavor and an even stronger bitter finish. This full bodied Pilsener has a great and wonderfully dry mouthfeel with its consistent texture, soft carbonation and astringent finish. Clean and very crisp. The best german Pilsener I’ve tasted so far. bigrond (1049), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 17, 2006 Pours with a three-finger white head that fades slowly and leaves a good lace. Clear pale amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is hoppy/skunky. Starts hoppy and bitter, stays that way at the finish and leaves a lingering bitter aftertaste. $1.95 for a 330ml bottle from Julio’s Liquors Westborough, Ma. outerupt (133), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 16, 2006 Pours flaxen yellow and pale with an overwhelming skunky hops nose and a thin a quickly dissolving head. The flavor is fairly pleasant with a decent kick of hops on the finish, however, I just don’t get the hype surrounding this pils. There are countless other beers in this style that outshine Jever. It simply falls short on depth of malt. wreckosaurus (11), USA

| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 26, 2006 Jever Pilsner, a legendary North German Pilsner, brewed by the Friesian Brewery which was established in the town of Jever in 1848. Jever Pilsner has been touted for years as being one of the finest examples of German Pils, which is the German answer to Czech Pilsner. German Pils is quite similar to Czech Pilsner, but has a more aggressive and vibrant hop character in both aroma and bitterness. You can really taste that very fresh, dry grassy/herbal hop character in Jever Pilsner, which is hopped with Hallertau hops.
Jever Pilsner pours to a beautiful, bright golden color with a very firm, bright white head, and a good bit of carbonation. The nose on this beer is very fragrant with big aromas of dry, herbal and resiny hop aromas. This beer comes in at 44 IBU(bittness units), a very respectable level of bitterness for this beer style. The palate is crisp and clean, with a firm base of pilsner malt, which stands up to that aggressive hop character. The body is very round and smooth on this beer, making it just so drinkable. Jever Pilsner finishes with a very long, dry and herbal hop bitterness that buzzes on the tongue and lingers. Wow. This is a world class beer.
