Commercial Description:
Unique in taste. The secret lies in the water, which is still taken from the same well used well over 100 years ago. The water from our well is unusually pure and soft. That allows us to add a touch more hops to create the Friesian-bitter taste that distinguishes Jever Pilsner from any other beer.

Yellow gold with small white head. Smell of hops, yeast, citrus. Bitter taste with medium fruit. Not my favorite style, but a decent specimen nonetheless.

Bottled. Clear yellow colour, small white bubbly head. Dry hay and vegetables in the semi-bitter aroma. Hoppy flavour with grassy and malty hints. Wellbalanced. Not too bad and pleasant palate.

Clear straw-yellow body with moderate carbonation and a loose, sudsy white head. Aroma of lightly musty, dry hay with mild underlying pale malt richness. Dry, lightly malty character with a prominent spicy, grassy hop flavor and bitterness. This is very hop-centered, even for a pilsner. Body is on the light side, very dry and crisp. Probably too dry and grassy to make a decent session pils for me, but still a worthwhile and enjoyable beer.

Bleh. Bitterness was way too upfront and covered any other flavor this beer could possibly have. Too fizzy and lively: to me, this is what macros (not that Jever is macro) aim for when going for "premium" because I think this is that kind of attack that people think is good.

Crisp and dry flavor with a hoppy bite at the end. It’s not superb, but it is a decent pilsner.

Smooth and slightly hopped, this pilsener is easy drinking but borderline boring drinking. Had it in a bottle at a bar.

Everything one could want in a pilsner with a dash of herbs thrown in there to raise the bar.
