Golden lager color. Creamy white head. Aroma is hoppy but a bit skunky. Taste is hops and corned hops. Aftertaste has a nice hoppy bitter. This is like a cheap imitation of Pilsner Urquell. Needs to be rerated fresh and tapped.
Re-rated, bottled
Propably fresher sample. Golden color, beautiful white tight creamy head. Woody and leafy hop aroma. Medium-bodied. Balanced grassy hopped, oaky notes. Soft bitter aftertaste. Very good imitation of Urquell. (7/3/7/4/14 3.5) Nate (2560), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Mar 24, 2004 Aroma is hoppy, not exactly floral but more oily. Has an odd metallic tinge to it, too. Kind of farm yard-ish, not too malty. Pale yellow gold sparkling clear, with small foamy white lacing head. Medium-light watery body with soft carbonation. Taste is medium acidic and light bitter to start. Mellow is a good word for this pils. The medium-heavy hops bitterness and metallic character sort of saunter in at the finish, rather than assault. The effect is the same, however, in that you're left with an unwanted house guest after a big bash. The finish and after linger too long with bitterness, with not enough sweetness or maltiness to balance. The soft palate detracts from any crispness this beer may have had. Maybe the can is old or not well traveled. raymow (738), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA

Those Germans and their damn green bottles. Aroma aside though, it's not a bad tasting beer. Pale yellow in color - nothing much to look at but again, taste isn't that bad. The beer is a nice golden color and has an OK head. It has a nice finish with a hint of hoppiness but not enough for a hop head. I would like this better if I were sitting at a bar in an old tavern in germany (but who wouldn't!) Frank (1071), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 23, 2004 I had this on tap avoiding what would inevitably be a skunk-strophe from the green bottle pictured to the left. Clear yellow with just a bit of foamy head. Mild, hoppy nose. Light bodied, spunky carbonation. Citric, earthy, almost American-style hop finish. Very dry. Nice. becksgenius (106), Illinois, USA
