| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 10, 2009 12 ounce bottle - $1.79 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a clear, yellow body with an inch of snow white foam. Fine layering of lace on the way down. Very slight effervescence.
Smell: Pilsner malt nose with a distinct graininess. Noble hop scents of flowers and a spicy herbaceousness. Minor whiff of skunkiness initially.
Taste: Pils malts with a dying grainy taste and a touch of honeyed sweetness. Pleasant Noble hop character that’s all at once spicy, floral, and grassy. Medium-high bitterness transitions into an almost mouth-puckering dryness. Final little bumps of clover honey try to peek through, but, for the most part it’s quite dry. Finishes, well, dry and rather crisp.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.
Drinkability: It could be a bit fresher and would probably be much better on tap, though this still was fairly solid. ben4321 (1041), Rockville, Maryland, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 4, 2009 This is one of the few pilseners I’ve had that can really stand on its own. The flavor is very compact, but also very strong, and the grassy nose almost completely matches up with the taste. Yet, what sets Jever apart from the other Germans I’ve tried is the dryness. From the first sip, you really have to admire the finish of this beer. I would drink this again.
