Not bad. Wouldn’t consider it very bitter, but a more flavourable typical beer. It was this or Amstel and I stick by my decision.

01.31.05 12oz bottle. Not much of a follow-up to the New Glarus Belgian Red, but I figured I’d clear the palate. Golden amber pour with sizable white head. Pretty mild aromas of cookie, grassy hops, toffee. More than a little bit cardboard-ish. This stuff used to be ubiquitous but I guess its price caught up with it eventually. Needs something to make it interesting, otherwise, it’s just another pale quaff.

Pours amber-copper with thin off-white head. Aroma and flavor of caramel. Very slight smokiness in the flavor. Somewhat thin, but balanced. A pretty drinkable bitter.

pours well, has a full robust body and a real thrist quencher. I would recomend not only beginning but finishing your evening or afternoon with a pint

This amber was enjoyed while the Patriots were up 10-0. There was very little head. The color was a copper hue. The flavor was a nice blend of hops and malt. This is an average beer.

Glassy amber body with a thin head. The aroma is a tad skunky, but beyond that it is decently filled out with some good nutty malt characters and some light floral notes. Palate is crisp, quite good a beer of this percentile. The flavor isnt anything to write home about, but its far from bad. It leaves a slight roasted sweetness on the tongue. Decent overall flavor, actually, suprisingly good.

Bottle. Amber with a fair sized off white head. Aromas of fruity malt and a tiny bit of beef broth? Anyway, overall aroma not very pronounced. Flavors of slightly fruity caramel malts with a thin body and a fairly dry finish. Really no hop flavors to speak of. Has a buttery toffee flavor in the background. Goes down like water. Not great for an ESB, but I thought this was a lager?
