these last night and it wasn’t good. The odor of mine was actually kinda sulfur and the taste left a whole lot to be desired. tsarman (794), Northern, New Jersey, USA

This is not a bad beer; in fact, I kinda developed a hankerin’ for it by the middle of the glass. I wouldn’t mind another. Nice balance of malt and hops, with enough bitter to make the party interesting. beaconstreet (811), Washington DC, USA

Had that taste of an "English" beer creep in at times, but other than that, this was undistinctive. I’ll take a pass next time. Crash (449), Macomb, Illinois, USA

I was taking notes and the only thing I could think to right down was tasteless. freekyp (906), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Sep 19, 2004 BOTTLED: Coppery with mid-sized creamy white head and decent lacing. A good, but unexciting, bitter. Clean and crisp with biscuity malt and even-keeled hops. Well balanced, but a bit boring. English malt character is the main player here. bb (2941), Martinez, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 16, 2004 Bottle. Copper color, beige head. Not much aroma. No overly strong flavors, but malt backing to a bit of spicy earthiness. Cobra (1066), In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 12, 2004 12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. Freshness date of 06 09 J (L05) on
the neck label. I guess it’s fresh. Poured out a golden copper color, with a medium white, meringue like head at first. It slid back to a thin lacing on top of the beer, and along the sides of the glass.
Aromas are of spicy hops, along with a substantial maltiness to it.
Tastes are of rich malts, and spicy, earthy hops. Makes your mouth water when you drink it. Tangy hops bite when swallowed, and a rich mouthfeel as well. A really good English ale.
