Medium body with near creamy carbonation. It’s caramel, but there’s almost enough floral bitter to balance. Maybe a tad too malty for an ESB, or not. Finishes with a decent amount of bitter. Pretty much fits the style. daknole (3031), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Apr 11, 2008 Pretty nice amber color (of course) topped with a modest head but not a whole lot of lacing. Decent malty taste, finishing slightly watery. Not a bad beer but nothing too special. I’d agree that it’s pretty easy to drink BeerFanDan17 (628), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA

As I recall, it was amber in color with a nice head. Flavors of malt and caramel. tkimbrought05 (37), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 30, 2008 Bought a single just out of curiosity, wasn’t expecting much at all, suprisingly though, not bad at all. Pours a hazy amber color. Slightly malty but a little watery. Nice caramel nutty flavor. EKGoldings (447), Radford, Virginia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 16, 2007 Tried in a British pale ale/esb tasting. Had this one a while in the cellar, along with a few other Brit ales. More or less what you expect from a British pale ale, toffee and light malt with a touch of hop thrown in. Quite different from American ales with the emphasis on complexity and malt rather than hop. Pretty good session ale but nothing that will lead to overly fond memories. imdownthepub (5186), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 10, 2007 Bottled, 12oz??, pasteurised. At Mike’s, cheers. Amber with white bubbly head, carbonated. This was a well traveled bottle, thin watery caramel beer, hardly a bitter in character, although there is a boiled tea like character. Sweetish on the finish, quite poor. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 20, 2007 Well since I haven’t had it in more than a year, I’ve read it isn’t distributed stateside anymore, I’ll rate it as I remember it! Amber to light brown color. Nice malt and hop aroma. Flavor is fairly malty for a bitter. Hints of toffee and I believe williamette hops. The mouthfeel is decent, just a bit on the light side. I’m not sure about why, but this was just a good solid beer for quite a while!
