On draft at the Mellow Mushroom in Athens. Nice enough pint, but really an average and forgettable amber ale.

Pale brown color with big foamy white head. Aroma is . . . well, just not very good. There are probably some hops, it's maybe a bit wheaty. Flavor has caramel notes, somewhat malty and sweet. A rather underwhelming brew.

First had this on tap at the Spring Garden Bar in Chapel Hill. Amber in color, nice head retention. Very rich malty taste. Strong caramel flavor. Smooth enough palate to quaff.

Good. Poured a slightly hazy light amber with a small quickly disappearing head. Hops is first noticable flavor, but then some complexity comes through. Earthiness followed by a sweet finish. Slight roasty after taste that dissolves away and leaves the drinker wanting another drink. Definately likable.

Light coppery brown w/ a lasting off white head. Malty w/ the typical herbal/tobacco leaf english hop aromas; lightly toasty & nutty; slight caramel and fruity. Well balanced and malty w/ some earthy hop flavor as well as fruity, slight diacetyl to add to complexity and a dry lightly toasted malt aftertaste. Lightly prickly carbonation but low, medium body w/ a dry m/f. Not as complex as other english ales, but a nice flavorful session beer.

I thought that this was a very good ale. Nice and smooth with a unique enough taste that I would want to drink it again.

Had this one on draft on a recent trip to Atlantic City. A good representative of the style. A dry hoppy flavor and a bit of bite are what this beer offers. A creamy head and finish complete it. Very good.

I must say that I had never heard of this before I went to a party in which this was on tap from a keg. My first thought was of Bass, but a bit more mild. It is very drinkable with a nice, creamy, fine-bubbly head. The sweet taste was not overbearing, even as the beer got warm. I must say that this one gets my approval, but it is also only one to start the night off with. It will taste like water after a London Porter.
