Malt flavor was a bit stronger than expected, and drowned out most of the bitter that I hoped for. Overall a good beer. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA

It's got a decent flavor and a very good feel to it. Needs a bit more hop bite for me. So it's not outstanding, but it is a very good beer that I enjoyed. weusebio (69), Portland, Oregon, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 27, 2003 Golden-copper hue and sudsy white head. Moderate to high carbonation. Herbal hop aroma, fruity malts, and honey. Distinct sourness plus some underlying malt sweetness. Surprisingly tart. Despite my tepid rating, I'm curious to try this one on draught. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 20, 2003 Copper colour with a hop nose. Sweet, maltiness comes through in the body. This is an English Amber Ale, so those expecting a hoppy American Amber will be disappointed. A decent beer for the style. JFGrind (1354), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 2, 2003 Light-medium amber with no head. Mild malt aroma. Mild malt flavor (a trace of nuts?) with only a hint of hops at the finish. As noted, a bit unexiting for a an ale that's labeled "Amber Ale" on the bottle. But not bad.
