Always beware when they say "premium beer" on the label. Nothing amber about this one, although it isn't a pale ale either. It is kinda stuck in the middle. Not enough hops for the PA and not amlty enough to be an amber. Not unpleasant, but that is about the best that can be said. Nice creamy head, then it goes straight to average beer land. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 10, 2003 Amber in color with a frothy off white head that sticks around for a while. Aroma is lightly malt with floral hints. Flavor is slightly bitter, but a bit thin and watery. Overall, it not too bad, but I expected more. ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Jul 10, 2003 Faint, yet rich aroma, reminiscent of an English bitter. Amber body with small off-white head that totally disappates. Flavor is very similar to an English bitter. Had it right after a Fullers ESB. Fullers is a lot better but John Courage isn't bad. Highly drinkable but needs more punch. Silphium (2144), Haslett, Michigan, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 1, 2003 Bleh. Almost golden-colored, clear, thin body. Aroma is lightly sweet, and the flavor is sweet, a little bit sharp, with bittering notes. Way too thin, though. Pretty boring beer. obxdude10 (1563), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jul 1, 2003 Copper in color, very little head whatsoever, decent hoppiness in the nose but very little in the flavors & a hint in the aftertaste, very light in body, very disappointing
