Jul 4, 2006 Sampled on draft at the Pittsburgh location this beer poured a dark caramel color with a small white head. The aroma is yeasty, bready and moderately hoppy. The flavor is rather bitter with a yeasty and bready middle and a bitter hoppy finish. The mouthfeel is moderately thick. Way to hoppy for a Tripel.

Mar 2, 2006 Taster on tap at brewpub; labled Belgian Triple Threat. Light golden color. Very malty with just enough yeasty sweetness. A little spicy.

Feb 20, 2006 On tap at the Devon location...
Appears a transparent gold with a small white head that slowly fades.
Smell is of honey, bread, flowers, citrus, and candy sugar, along with some earthy notes.
Taste is of the same aromas with some natural spices like cardamom and pepper rousing about that is completely natural from the yeast strain.
Mouthfeel is honey sweet, smooth, with some spices clinging to the palate.

Feb 19, 2006 Poured a dark golden color with a small white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus fruits, coriander, yeast, and orange peel. Taste of more citrus fruits, white pepper, earthy yeast, spices, and alcohol as well.

Oct 4, 2005 Pour is crystal clear golden yellow with thin off white head...smell is spicy with clove and there is some honey there too...taste is thin and watery...sweet candy sugar...

May 9, 2003 Pours a little light in color for a trippel ... looks more like a pilsner. Aroma contains typical Belgian yeast spiciness and some sourness. Flavor is very sweet with plenty of cotton candy, rock candy, and yeasty tones. There is a slightly detectable solvent taste which distracts. This beer is a little subpar, but I may be overly harsh because of a love for this style.

Jan 10, 2002 Strong beer. Had an acidy type taste but was very good. Had two and wouldn’t have minded more. Although I have had a lot better Trippel’s this one hit the spot for a quick one. Probably better in the summer when it is hot out..
