Smells of cherries, spice, some roses, caramel, touches of ginger. Tastes sweet with lots of spicy hints. Very drinkable. eaglefan538 (2079), Wilmington, Delaware, USA May 31, 2006 Enjoyed this one before the meal arrived. Reminded me of the Oktoberfest style beers. Some spicy flavoring along with a nice amber color. The balance of malt and hops reminded me of several German lagers I’ve had, although the flavor was complex enough to suspect that they broke German purity laws. An enjoyable beer for the cooler months of the year. hopdog (4649), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 8, 2006 On tap at the Wayne location. Poured a medium red and see through color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of flowers and maybe some light spices. Tastes of flowers, toasted malts, and some spices. Thinner body. DYCSoccer17 (2040), Davis, California, USA Dec 22, 2005 Draft at Manchester, CT location. Vinous, almost berry-like aroma with a bit of roastiness and a touch of hoppiness in the nose. Aroma is rather faint and unassertive. Transparent red-amber color with a small off-yellowish head. Metallic start, turning somewhat roasted with a bit of stickiness in the middle. Spiced, piney, hemp-like hoppiness to finish. Pretty straight-forward and one-dimensional with the hops really taking over.
