Commercial Description:
John Labatt Classic was introduced in 1983 as Canada’s only national domestic “premium beer”. It is Krausen-brewed (slow, low temperature with a secondary fermentation process) and has a longer cold-aging process. Classic uses all-malt and a unique blend of western-grown North American hops, providing a smooth, full flavour product with a true malt taste that is slightly sweet. Editor's Note: Is this only available in the US?

Bottle: Pours a clear yellow gold with light head. The nose is malty with some sweetness and husk. Nothing in the hop department. Thin flavor with a snappy biscuity tail. A little sweet in the finish like a non-alcohol lager.

Had a couple of bottles at my In-Laws, pours a clear light gold with a foamy white head, faint malt aroma and some malt bread sweetness, light malt flavor and little hop bite, a little better than the regular Labatt Blue, nice for a Summer day.

12oz bottle purchased as part of a mixed 12-pack. Pours a light straw-colored translucent body with a short-lived half-inch white head. Smells sweet, slightly vegetal. Tastes vegetal, sweet, hints of bread. Very light thin mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. While initially unimpressive, this beer grows on you as you drink it. Nothing special, for sure not the best example of the style, but an easy-drinker and I wouldn’t refuse it if it were given to me.

I just rated the Beer 30 and sad to say this looks eerily similar. Dry sweetness in the nose. Still picking up corn. Hope this isn’t indicative of the flavor. Taste is a little bit better, more of a sweetness, syrup even. Some grassy qualities. Reminds me of some now defunct Kraftbrau beers.

Pours a very clear, golden color with a thin white head and moderate carbonation. Aroma is a herbal and spicy hop aroma with a pils malt sweetness and not much else. Flavor is a mixture of light noble hops, sweet pils and some hints of lemon grass toward the end. I was expecting a very corny and grainy flavor but overall this wasn’t that bad for a pale lager. Light, crisp with some decent flavors making it a very drinkable beer for a style weighted down with crappiness.

11.5 oz bottle from Headbanger - thanks! Clear pale gold with a fizzy white head. Grainy and lightly floral nose, corny. Rather sweet grain flavors, a bit of grass. Disappears quick. Meh.

(Bottle courtesy of Headbanger) - Color is a bright gold with very good carbonation and a small white head. Aroma is a faint sweet grain and corn scent. Taste is light and crisp. Starting with a light body it goes down with an easy crisp feel. Finish is a very light malty taste then a hint of bitterness. After taste is clean and a little bland. Overall its not bad, just a common Pale Lager.
