Commercial Description:
John Labatt Classic was introduced in 1983 as Canada’s only national domestic “premium beer”. It is Krausen-brewed (slow, low temperature with a secondary fermentation process) and has a longer cold-aging process. Classic uses all-malt and a unique blend of western-grown North American hops, providing a smooth, full flavour product with a true malt taste that is slightly sweet. Editor's Note: Is this only available in the US?

Out of the labatt variety case & it was just an average beer. Pours a typical clear yellow/gold with fizzy off-white head. Typical grainy-grass aroma. Flavor is clean and crisp, but of grassiness and a little sweet. Overall, a decent everyday lager.

Out of the labatt variety case this one was the best by far. Pours a typical clear gold with bubbly/fizzy white head. Typical grassy corny aroma. Flavor is clean and crisp, but of grassiness and slight hop bitterness. Overall, enjoyable lager.

11/01/2008: John Labatt Classic looks, smells, tastes, and feels like just about any other pale lager. I has a transparent, golden color and a white head and disappears quite rapidly. The aroma reminds me of sweet white corn with a touch of fruitiness. This beer is smooth and refreshing and not to thin, but not too heavy either. It has a soft, pleasing palate, but not really much else. The flavor is weak and bland. It is on the sweeter side with no real adjunct presence, but the maltiness is quite light. This beer definitely has a different taste than the American macro lagers. Overall it is just smoother and somehow more refined. It is also better than Labatt Blue in every way!

340 ml/11.5 fl. oz. twist-off bottle (H29L81 0041) from 24-pack sampler purchased via Tmoney99. Rating #120 for this beer...

Pours a little darker than most american/canadian lagers. Aromas of corn, hops, and you know the rest. Flavor is a little more pronounced in this lager. Just a bit more flavor than most.
