Commercial Description:
John Labatt Classic was introduced in 1983 as Canada’s only national domestic “premium beer”. It is Krausen-brewed (slow, low temperature with a secondary fermentation process) and has a longer cold-aging process. Classic uses all-malt and a unique blend of western-grown North American hops, providing a smooth, full flavour product with a true malt taste that is slightly sweet. Editor's Note: Is this only available in the US?

Just a tad better than your typical American/Canadian pale lager. This is the usual of the style with a sweet aftertaste. Pour was a light gold with a generous 2 finger white head. Aroma is actually pilsener-ish with a hint of hops not present in regular Labatts. Nothing to get excited about.

12 oz bottle: Aroma is corn, funk, a slight hop texture, and really grassy in the nose. Appearance is like all pale Lagers golden and clear, but this one had a especially long lasting head which is a good thing. Taste is somewhat grainy, very light hop twang, and light overall. Overall, It’s a macro lager if I’ve ever seen one. Nothing really special and nothing really exciting. rather Blah.....

Smells light and crisp, quickly fades to nothing. Pours a clear light yellow/gold color with a small white head. Tastes light and refreshing. Nice, but a little bland.

Bottle in sampler set from Sam’s. Poured amber color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Medium sweet grassy hoppy aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Medium bitter flavor with a medium bitter finish of moderate duration. My expectations were met.

Slight sour milk and cooked bread yeast aroma when you twist off the cap. Ubiquitous american lager color and appearance. Some mild lager industrial bite but for the most part, this is fairly enjoyable and well mannered, for a lager lover. Nice tingly carbonation. The finish is processed and clean. After taste impressions of flat metal.

Poured from a bottle. Nice malt/hoppy flavor, with nice carbonation. Gold in color and an aroma of grain and corn.

This is a great looking pour. Light gold with a big pillowy head. Huge carbonation that is showering to the surface. Aroma and flavor is the basic mild malt, corn, grains, light tartness that most pale lagers have. Actually this is a little better than most of them. Pretty refreshing.

11.5 oz bottle. Retired? Found in a variety pack... tasted like a plain lager, nothing special but no complaints.
