Damn, I cannot believe that this is retired. the sample pack I just bought must be old as hell ,but i doubt time makes it taste any worse. This was bad, with maybe a little bit of honey flavor in it. Bad session beer. It really had no body to speak of, just swill with a honey twinge to it.

Labatt sample pack from Woodman’s. Labatt brews that I have had are pretty basic and nothing out of this world. But still not bad. I found this on to be better than most. Small Malt, hint of honey maybe some nutty after tastes.

Yeah, the Sleeman honey brown seems like a comparable beer. But I like the line about "50 with brown food colouring." Thanks for that CapFlu! Mainly grainy aroma, with honey-ish sugar notes. Palate is buttery and light. Not exciting, but no off tastes in here. Not sure how the word ’dark’ got in the description.

I have mixed emotions on this one. It’s certainly no miraculous brew, yet at the same time, for the price and being from a megabrewer, its really not half bad. It is a clear, caramel amber in color with a medium to medium small head that dissipated very quickly. The aroma is simple...mostly like sweet bread and just a little bit of malt. The taste is that of very mild hops with some yeasty nuttiness. The ’honey’ isn’t really apparent until the beer warms slightly. The aftertaste is faintly sweet with some metallic qualities. All around it is very mild from start to finish...low in flavor and not exciting, but then again, nothing stands out as ’bad’ or ’undrinkable’ either. Great value for the cost.

cheap half decent beer, all around average, labatt came out with this after a smaller area brewery came out with a line of beers they advertised and sold for a buck a beer, easy drinking nice light brown colour, some say sweet aftertaste but i dont taste it, not bad, very cheap ( 26.40) for 24 bottles canadian $

This beer is one of the great American Amber Classics. It is very smooth, so much that I can drink 5-6 in a row and simply feel the silkiness. The taste is rather hopppy with hints of malt and nut. The honey is very light, but overall, a great beer.

On tap at Elephant & Castle, Ottawa. Nice amber body with lively carbonation and decent white frothy head. Weak malty aroma with nutty and bready notes. Taste also lacks strenght. It is mild, fairly balanced, but carries light metallic hints. Finish is short and metallic. Really not a success, but what else could we expect from Labatt?

(Draught) On tap at Colonnade Pizza on Metcalfe Street. Very bland nose and flavour. I was told this tastes like Sleeman Honey Brown but all in all it was 50 with brown food colouring. No real hint of any additional malt added? Very watery and tasteless.
