bottle. Poured clear orange-amber with a decent beige head head. Sweet citrus hoppy aroma. Creamy texture, lower carbonation. Taste is malty, oaky with caramel note. Light bitter finish.

Mild caramel and bready malts in the nose. Clear brown body topped by a low but lasting white head. Flavour offers caramel and bread-like malt characteristics with some light spicy hops especially in the aftertaste. Medium light body with moderate carbonation. Pretty innocuous, but at least somewhat suggestive of a bock. Tulip glass. Just above fridge temperature. Bottle purchased at the BCLS at Kingsgate in Nov-09.

Yeah. About as much a bock as their IPA is an IPA. Someone’s misreading this recipe book. It just tastes like any other Sleeman’s only sweeter.

341mL bottle. Pours copper with lasting white head. Caramel nose, some citrus. Body is creamy with sweet caramel notes, light hops in the finish. Not too bad for a sleeman product.

Thanks to Jer I think? Nice dark yellow / bronze, small creamy white head. Somewhat sweet aroma, a bit of alcohol. Taste is good - strong malt and alcohol bite upfront, decent metallic like hops in finish. Still has a slighlty harsh touch I would attribute maybe to the Sleeman yeast (I have no idea what I am talking about, but it seems to be a standard characteristic in their beers). The best of their John Sleeman presents series by far a very acceptable entry into the Ontario winter warmer category. A nice surprise.

Clear 341 ml bottle from Beer Store. Pours a clear amber gold with small off-white head. Sweet caramel malt and fruit in the nose. Caramel, grass and a slight bitter finish. Not too special, but passable.

Pours a amber orange with a frothy off white head. Aroma is light, caramel malt, and grassy notes. The flavour is ok, caramel, malt, some herbal bitter note, not bad. All and all, it’s and alright beer, but not the greatest bock.

Fairly impressed with this one. Most of the Sleeman catalogue is less than interesting. Aroma is caramel and sweet malt. Taste is crisp caramel with an earthy malt aftertaste. I’m actually glad I picked up a 6 of this. I’ll enjoy this again. There are better bocks out there but this is a very good one for the price.
