Beerman6686 (724), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 12, 2008 Poured a dark murky brown with a light tan head. Aroma was of toffee chocolate and some caramel. Flavor was nice and roasted but a bit bland and watery. allfreej (290), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Jun 8, 2008 Bottled as Porter 68. Poured dark brown, with a rocky tan head. Nose was roasty and malty. Flavor was bittersweet chocolate, roated malt. The finish was too bitter--not a hoppy bitter, but more of an astringent finish. That being said, it was a refreshing beer. Perhaps not a good example of a porter, but not the drain pour inferred by others. DruncanVeasey (1631), Burbage, Leicestershire, England May 14, 2008 Quite enjoyed this one. Clear mahogany against the light, fine beige suds. Nose pitched between Belgium (sweet sugary stout) and the Baltic- slightly sourish dried fruit, adjuncty cooked sugar sweetness, toffee, chocolate, yeast extract. Dusty chocolate, pruney sweetness, roasted malt and lingering smoke on the palate. Just a nibble of astringency that isn’t quite right, but quite a tasty beer with some authentic character. Underrated. phishpond417 (1418), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA May 14, 2008 Yikes, nothing like a porter, more like a dark pale lager. light bodied, clear amber colour small tan head, with a hint of honey roaste nuts. Unholy_Brewing (290), Melbourne, Australia Mar 28, 2008 ...wrong, wrong, wrong, poor porter. Not dark or thick enough, and no roasted chocolate porter flavor. Too light, and still proves canadians can’t brew beer right.
