| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 19, 2006 Porters are one of my favorite styles and its been too long between samples. This one starts out with a nice little bite to it that fades to a pleasant bitterness. It featrues aromas of malts, coffee, and roastiness and all of these translate into the flavor. A bitter aftertaste is left in the back of the mouth but the stout-like zing is centered closer to the front. Porters can be somewhat bland but this one is not. It is full of life and is almost a stout lite. nick76 (2664), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 9/20 | Aug 9, 2006 The aroma has toasted malt, chocolate, and what seems like corn or vegetables. The appearance is deep red brown with an average head. The flavor has toasted malt, coffee, cheery, and chemical bitterness. The palate is nice for a porter but overall it’s not really that nice. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Aug 9, 2006 bottle: Not bad for the style. Bitterness of hops & sweet malts balance pretty well. Rich deep brown colour with thin white head. Med to light body, lots of carb, some slight chocolate taste. Better porters or stouts out there with smoother & bolder tastes, more flavours and roastedness needed. sneagrams3 (1757), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 3, 2006 Not a bad beer. It has some light chocolate taste, but is very light with a lot of carbonation. Sleeman’s, in my opinion, does a great job with its packaging and this beer "looks" very inviting. The trouble is that it does not have much going on. Give it a shot, but big Porter fans will be disappointed by this lighter version. JonMoore (1561), Loughborough, Leicestershire, England
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 27, 2006 Bottle. Dark brown with a large tan head. Malty, hoppy and chocolatey aroma. Flavours are roasted malts, chocolate, cardboard. Not bad, but not too much like any porter I’m familiar with. Light, carbonated mouthfeel.
Well, I’m enjoying it despite reservations.
