| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 16, 2006 This was a very roasty and acidic porter, akin to cherry coke and a chocolate mocha latte. Decent, but has a very short flavor on the palate and in the finish. BeerMountie (106), Bonavista, Newfoundland, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 12, 2006 Pours dark brown with a thick tan head which quickly deminishes. Aroma consists of coffee and some chocolate. The flavour contains malt and some fruit. I enjoyed this beer and it has become one of my regulars. rudolf (1782), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 10, 2006 Thanks to whoever in the Toronto crew passed this along. Deep ruby/brown. THin off-white head. Caramel, cola, cherries, dark fruits. Bitter chocolate & caramel, cherry. Lots of cocoa in the finish. Overly sweet but a small sample is OK. Thin body. noelcb (271), Toledo, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 30, 2006 Actually my bottle said Sleemans Porter 68, but I believe this listing is a rename of that, assuming from the recipe page 69 reference. However my experience is that what I tasted was significantly better than the reviews here so I’m not sure. Anyway, here’s my review of Porter 68:
Poured nearly black, had a tidy tan short head which faded Porter-style, leaving some nice sticky lace. On the nose was dark roasted malt, grass, both herbal and floral hops, grapefruit, raisins, coffee, cocoa, vanilla, leather and brown sugar. Flavor was heavily toasted malt, espresso, and earthy tones balanced by astringent grapefruit/juniper hops, deeper were fruit and sugar undertones, deeper still the faint crackers and sourdough bread flavor of yeast. Very full bodied, enough to please the stout lover or the hophead. Mouthfeel was protypical Porter. Crash (448), Macomb, Illinois, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 28, 2006 Poured black with off-white head. Not much in the way of aroma. Not much taste for a porter. Slightly acidic with a sour finish.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 22, 2006 11.5oz. bottle. Aroma is pretty faint, just some lightly roasty, cookieish, caramel maltiness and a very gentle spicy hop presence. Dark brown in color with tinges of red and a lasting, creamy head. Roasty, grainy, sweet and lightly bitter flavors to be found here, turning somewhat chocolatey and hoppy by the finish and featuring lingering hints of toffee and dark bread. Palate is a little thin and fizzy but medium body is there. Turns slightly ashy as it warms. Perhaps not impressive, but seemingly drinkable at least. bigrond (1054), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Mar 18, 2006 sleeman does it again. another poor representation in it’s class. It has almost a smoky flavor, and not a good one. for a canadion beer this is bad. I don’t reccomend you drink this unless your already drunk - at that point it won’t taste to bad. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 14, 2006 Bottle - Deep and dark with just a glimmer of red. Decent enough head. Nice bitter woodiness predominates with a nice activity on the tongue. A bit shallow in body, but I still enjoyed this.
