Made a promising appearance, poured a semi-opaque red hued dark chocolate brown with a nice sized creamy pale tan head that reduced to a thin clingy bubbly lacing. Had faint, clean aromas, roasted chocolate maltiness, a little vanilla and fruity hoppiness. Medium carbonation and a slick light medium bodied mouth feel, not that drinkable. Had a watery roasted malty taste, a metallic bitterness and a dry thin roasted malty finish with a unpleasant metallic aftertaste.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 12, 2006 From the Sleeman winter variety pack. Poured an average dark tan head. Light aroma of roasted malts. Some sweet flavoring with a slight bitterness at the end. Still it was refreshing for a porter. Was alittle more watery than most porters. jb (1063), Rochester, New York, USA

Lively carbonation. Tastes of roasted malt and some caramel, bitter hop finish. Average but strangly drinkable. Sammy (4068), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 4, 2006 strong carbonation. Lagerish body with porter flavour, welcome but of bitterness. Not thin but on weak flavour for style. Quaffable. Blackish with some head, mollasses aroma. JK (2967), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
