Flavor was malty, but doesn’t pick up any of the notes in the aroma, and the body is very thin. Bad beer. ILoveNewBeer (113), Iowa City, Iowa, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 5, 2008 From bottle. Deep ruby in colour with a thin lace. Sweet, honey aroma. Slight hin tof oak. Flavour was metallic, chemically. Cheap attempt at a porter. Smooths as it warms and not as harsh as initial taste. Not that good pacaus (49), Dublin, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Sep 17, 2008 Not bad. I thought it was a pretty good dark beer. I definitely tasted some malt and liked the rich color. I did find it lacking tat greatness that some of the other micro brews have though. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 6, 2008 Dark brown (much darker than the picture displayed here), thin brief head. Nice chocolate and coffee aroma, but the palate doesn’t really translate-- thin, with an uncomplimentary astringently bitter finish. Unbalanced and skimpy. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 12, 2008 Poured a dark murky brown with a light tan head. Aroma was of toffee chocolate and some caramel. Flavor was nice and roasted but a bit bland and watery. allfreej (375), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 8, 2008 Bottled as Porter 68. Poured dark brown, with a rocky tan head. Nose was roasty and malty. Flavor was bittersweet chocolate, roated malt. The finish was too bitter--not a hoppy bitter, but more of an astringent finish. That being said, it was a refreshing beer. Perhaps not a good example of a porter, but not the drain pour inferred by others. DruncanVeasey (2747), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 14, 2008 Quite enjoyed this one. Clear mahogany against the light, fine beige suds. Nose pitched between Belgium (sweet sugary stout) and the Baltic- slightly sourish dried fruit, adjuncty cooked sugar sweetness, toffee, chocolate, yeast extract. Dusty chocolate, pruney sweetness, roasted malt and lingering smoke on the palate. Just a nibble of astringency that isn’t quite right, but quite a tasty beer with some authentic character. Underrated.
