Medium / light mouthfeel with a normal amount of carbonation. Initial taste is malt that has a funky muddied taste to it. The finish has more of a tin taste than a hoppy taste. Blah - not good. Thank goodness I only got one bottle of this stuff. An IPA to avoid. redbarista (40), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 9, 2006 Very mediocre brew. Although it was sufficiently beery, it seemed as though I’d taken a decent IPA and added about 3 oz. of water after pouring. As a plus, the bottles for the U.S. version look cool, and it was only 5 dollars for the six-pack. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | May 7, 2006 I don’t really have anything to add that other reviews have already stated, a poor English IPA by any measure, at any level. Tasteless in the IPA standard, I can’t help wondering why this is called IPA, does have a crap tasting butteriness, but not even in the English sense, hops are bland and bitterless. malts are bland tasting as well. A Canadian friend warned me about Sleeman’s beers and everything he told me about the quality of their brews has proven correct, avoid Sleeman’s whenever you can, pay and try at your own risk.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 29, 2006 Attractive copper color. Fairly small white head. Not as bad as I was expecting based on the previous ratings. Medium body, kind of flat. A slightly unpleasant bitter aftertaste. Lacks the characteristic taste of the high quality IPA. But for it’s price, this was an OK beer. kyzr (1127), Belgrade, Montana, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 7, 2006 Gold in color with nice head. Very low hint of any hops. Not a lot of hop on the flavor, more hints of European malt. Very weak example of IPA. DrunkAsASkunk (847), Lynnwood, Washington, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 7, 2006 This beer pours a clear goldeny yellow color with visible carbonation bubbles and a faint white head with a thin layer of lacing. The aroma is very faint with a hint of malt and sweetness but very reminiscent of a US lager which I’ll leave nameless, but I’d call the King of crap! The flavor is equally unimpressive with a dry malty cardboardiness in the finish. Its as if we took an orange shasta, removed the sugar, added some carbonation only to have it flatten out, and this is what you got. Flavor-less, aroma-less...worthless. It’s giving me gas....im done! Indra (2036), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 23, 2006 11.5oz. bottle. Aroma is pretty faint for the style, just some light citric hoppiness with slight lemon and pine notes and some very faint background sweetness. Lightly hazy pale amber color with a lasting, fine head. Flavor is very generally awash in bitterness, yet seems to leave only a fine sheen of oily hop resins before fading quickly away, revealing a weak amount of background maltiness. Thin and watery on the palate with a light-medium body. At least it wasn’t skunked, having been packaged in a standard brown bottle.
