Like most Sleeman products I find this one underrated. Like ALL Sleeman products I find it’s aroma delicious! I swear Sleeman has the best smelling brews on the planet. This one smacks of bread & flowers. Pours an above average slightly dark copper with a thick, scrumptious off-white creamy head that lasts. The head produces thick blobs of yeast & malt that float on top mimicing a scoop of ice cream!!! Starts off slightly bitter, but leaves a full bitter on aftertaste. NICE! I love the antique style bottles too! $5.99 for a 6 pack at Bluemound Liquor in Milwaukee on 12/5/07.

Labeled Sleeman IPA 46* Ale. This impressed me - unmistakable upstate NY/Ontario representation of an EIPA. Good appearance marks - brown bottle, as opposed to the one shown, good bottle shape, nice embossed logo, nice label. Clear orange-tinged gold beer, an inch-tall faintly tan head. Parched malt aroma with whiffs of well-simmered hops. Fairly well-bittered, I like the malt backbone, tangy and dry. Good mouthfeel without getting too heavy. Minor grumbles about some unpleasant bitterness on the backend, but I really dug this one and think that it’s hugely under-rated.

Bottle. Golden beer with a strong head. The aroma is dry and quite malty and the flavour is dry and quite floral with a whisky like finish. Overall quite a palatable drink.

Nice Gold colour, decent head. Malty/Nutty nose. Has a hoppy taste to it, but not too hoppy. Struck a nice balance in my mind.

Poured from bottle. Poured a dark golden color with a decent head. Very nice aroma. Malty, sweet smelling. Full malt flavor which was very nice, with a biterness at the end. Maybe a bit too bitter for my liking. I have found most Sleeman products just O.K, but this one is very good.

Bottle. Orange with some fruitiness. Hops are there as well but this a quite gentle beer compared with some others of this style. Quite pleasant.

Bottle, 2/19/06: Bright orange and still but with a big rocky head. Sharply bitter in an earthy, dirty way. Unexpected. Leaves a musty/cheesy aftertaste.

Bottle - a touch of the funky import musky/sourness that many imports have here upon arrival. Malty background. Much the color of Pilsener Urquell. White head that quickly dissipated dispite an overly aggresive pour on my part. Another IPA that I wouldn’t call an IPA. More of a bitter. The hops are very mild and in the finish. That said, I like this beer’s flavor very much.
