Draft. This is a fairly lifeless beer. Nut brown in appearance with a dense head. Not a lot of aroma, but what’s there hints at sweetness. Not much flavor — perhaps some nuts. There is a slightly bitter aftertaste to the soft mouthfeel.

Can @ Hot Stuff, an excellent Indian Place in London. Clear light brown with a fluffy white head. Slightly sour malt aroma. Thin and metallic in flavor with a bit of bitterness, some sweetness and a hint of toasted caramel. Reminds me of the cheap ales of New Zealand like DB Double Brown.

I feel John Smith is better than most big brand beers. Sampled on draught. Good appearance, creamy head with a wheaty taste. Don’t drink it when its warm. Its minging.

A creamy off-white head on a copper coloured body. A dry and some nutty taste. Not much aroma. No aftertaste at all.

On tap at Duke of York (Victoria - London).
Clear and limpid orange/red color. Light and evanescent head. Irish beer type scent with notes of malt and cortex. Extremely barren and dry with a determined and persistent bitter. Lightly watery on the end.

Cask. Nutbrown, creamy off-white head, good lacings. Aroma moderate malty (burnt) and hoppy. Flavor moderate sweet and bitter. Light body, watery, flat carbonated.

(0.4 L from Tap) Well, the beer is smooth and easy to drink. Malty and sugary at the same time, but without much of an aftertaste. Plain and dry finish.

Nothing interesting, a beer that is supposed to be awessome, but it is just another bitter boring beer. Good foam.
