Draught, clear copper colour with some brownish taints, small head that dissapears quite quickly with no impact. Aromas of malt and caramel, though not to strong, with some yeastines. Mild sweet fruity taste with some bitterness lingering to a bitter sour aftertaste. Extremly drinkable but not really complex. hoping to try some better and more complex v versions of this style.

Tap. This beer is a chestnut brown colour with a dense, sizely and lasting white head. It’s quite sparse when it comes to aromas; the ocassional nut and caramel notes typical of this sort of bitter. The flavours are also mild and subdued with a dusty caramel sweetness and a nutty hop component. A smooth mouthfeel and dusty palate texture with a dry bitterness round off the sip. All in all, this bitter is a touch bland but a good session beer and it beats most pale lagers available in establishments offering nothing tastier.

Can 440 ml. Poured burnt bronze with a large, creamy, off-white head which was fully lasting. Light notes of earthy hops with caramel malts, apricots and light notes of buttery marmalade. Flavor was a mild earthy hop bitterness with caramel malts, biscuits, nectarines and a dry finish. Light bodied with soft carbonation, a dry mouthfeel, watery texture and a relatively short finish.

Keg tap at Ginza restaurant, Sherwood, Nottingham. This is bland and unremarkable ; however, it’s preferable to Worthington Creamflow and it’s certainly better than mass-produced lagers when nothing better is available.
