The color is nutbrown and it has a fine bubbly head though very fast disappearing. The flavor is sweet, malty, and very light. It has no character and is therefore a very average beer. leaparsons (4749), Leicester, Leicestershire, England

Otherwise this has a chemical taste and a poor finish. To try this beer on the cheap just lick a 1p coin. imdownthepub (5164), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England

Not sure about this as I think it is filtered and put on sale straight away. Little character to the beer, nothing to latch on to as a distinguishing flavour. Boring. Appearance wise, this drink makes you want it. Mahogony with a creamy head. Goes down well with a big greasy pub lunch. RobBestwick (555), Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England

It’s a pity about the taste. It tastes like iron filings and sheeps urine soaked in damp acorns. Avoid this beer at all costs! CQC (224), Sydney, Australia

A pint of John Smiths,
Can’t wait to savour,
That Yorkshire flavour,
It’s so golden and so dear- it’s also very, very clear,
Yes I really do adore it,
And I’d do anything for it.
Well I hold it and I cling to it,
I even sing to it,
Look at that colour,
It’s like no other,
.... damn can’t remember the rest.
What a classic beer. Not in quality, just one of those ones that I was weened on. It’s everywhere, on tap, in cans soaked into the carpets...
10/10 for their adverts though. Who else would use Penguins and Jake Dee to advertise beer!
Oh yeah, rate the beer. Well it’s a nice kinda golden colour and it tastes like any old standard middle of the road bitter from the UK. Slovak34 (99), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
