Cask Handpump at Wetherspoons, Manchester 15/05/2009 Slight floral aroma. Beige head. Mid brown coloured smooth on the palate and fruity with a little dryness in a crisp full malt finish.

Cask handpull at Willow Walk Spoons, Victoria. Deepish brown colour, thin beige head. It’s a slightly low flavoured bitter, nothing wrong with it, just no real flavour or hop.

Cask in the new crown and alfread herring. Alround rating: Fruity nuttyness off the malts, brawn ale malts are key, theres a decent amoutn of sulphury mineral content in here too. Not really my deal.

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Copper colour with white head. I was really hoping that this would be good, J.S should be knocking out decent R.A’s rather than the normal trash, but oh dear this was a sweet sickly, hopless mush. Below average and frankly pretty hopeless.

Cask, Lord Keeper of the Great Seal, Oadby. Dark brown with red tints and a dense beige foam. Aromas are light malts with some fruitiness. Traces of chocolate. Flavours are smooth, light malts with some light coffee. Not much going on. Boring.

Cask at The Penny Black, JDW, Bicester, Oxon 16-04-09 Pours reddy amber with a white head. This is really very fruity and malty, didn’t read the tasting notes so the banana thing bypassed me but on a fruit theme I did get strawberry in the taste department. Bitterness is fairy average but quite decent, pleasantly tangy and just a decent fruity, malty effort that I quite enjoyed. A5 A4 F7 P4 Ov13 3.3
