Aug 28, 2007 Pint in the Fox & Duck, Sheffield. Cant believe I’ve never tried this before so here goes I did. Great appearance, amber with a creamy head. Nutty flavour and much more flavoursome than the smooth. Would always go for the magnet now its just not as available.

May 9, 2007 Very dry. This is effectively Jon Smith’s smooth’s evil twin. The Magnet is very dark in the glass, a tiny bit sweet at first, and bitter at the end -- and the bitterness stays with you for a while. If you like stronger brews, this one won’t disappoint.

Nov 8, 2006 A dark red colour with a thick white head ontop. A sweet aftertaste when drinking. Not my favourite drink in the world, as I wouldnt choose it over something else. More of a last resort drink, but still nice.

Jun 17, 2006 Cask. Ruby with a white head, laces very well. Malty apples in the aroma, sweetness in the taste, some dry bitter finish. Quite nice drinker.

Mid brown coloured smooth and malty with a slightly dry finish.

Dark brown colour slightly sour fruitiness.
Crisp slight bitterness in the malt finish.

Jun 23, 2005 London - Warm, wine, cider aroma, similar taste but weaker, light and then gets a little bitter. Dark brown pour with no head and has a strange aftertaste.

May 31, 2005 Cask at White Cart, Busby. Brown with an off white head. Malt aroma. Some hops. Mouthfeel okay. Adequate hop finish. Just too boring, I’m afraid.
