rauchbier (2854), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England Mar 17, 2008 Bottle, from Morrisons, Grimsby. Copper bronze, thin but lasting white head and gentle condition. Low bitter herbal hoppiness in the nose with a touch of sweetness, quite sweet in the mouth with hints of caramel toffee but developing a dry bitterness, remaining dry a harsh in the finish with a lingering saccharine note.
RichardGretton (2540), Leicestershire, Leicestershire, England Jun 12, 2008 Bottle. Brownish beer with a reasonable head. The aroma is lightly roasted, and the flavour is hopped, roasted, bitter and slightly creamy. Overall an average beer. hughie (2020), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England May 18, 2008 Chestnut amber with a large white head. Buttery caramel malt aroma develops eventually. Slightly roasted malty taste with overlying sourness. Bitter finish. It wasn’t that bad. joe1961_2 (355), camberley, Surrey, England Apr 12, 2008 Bottle. A dark brown colour with a thin white head. Not much aroma, and the taste is sweet with a bitter finish. The beer is drinkable, but would not buy any more. Magic_dave6 (3476), Glasgow, Scotland Apr 8, 2008 Bottle from sainsburies. Aroam is butterscotch and caramel and sweet brown ale malts, but not offensive. Taste is similar and i drank this quite plesently, though wouldnt buy another bottle. imdownthepub (3827), Banbury, Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire, England Apr 7, 2008 Bottled, pasteurised, 500ml from Morrisons, Banbury. Chestnut, carbonated with dull head. I don’t know, you launch a new beer into the supermarkets, not a cheap thing to do these days, the package looks fine, you buy your shelf space and then you deliver a product that is as poor as the rest of your range, surely the Headbrewer (if there is such a thing in these breweries now) has some pride. Cardboardy, adjuncty, some malt, caramel as a filler. It’s not good and thats a real shame.
