Hazy, very light yellow. Thin white ring. Nice lace. Some sweetness, light. Nice flavor. The highest rated beer brewed in the State of Iowa. A good beer, but Iowa should be able to come up with a beer rated higher than 3.46. DJC (238), USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Dec 7, 2006 Nice, hazy gold color, but it had a very disappointing head. Gentle, welcoming aroma. Flavor was dominated by the spices -- perhaps nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon and cloves? To me, the finish was better than the initial flavor. I’ll pass the next time. NachlamSie (1641), Tennessee, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 13, 2006 Bottle received in a trade with Iowaherkeye. Pretty typical cloudy yellow body with a small fuzzy white head. There is a hint of banana and coriander in the nose, but this wit is a notch breadier than some of its kin. There’s a hint of dinner rolls. Pretty decent in the mouth, inclusive of all the aspects I would expect in the style, but it is thin. It’s got a touch of citrus and subtle spices. The finish is faint of clove smoke and so is spicy just in the slightest. A bit of papery hops come through here and there. This’ll work. FROTHINGSLOSH (2010), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy medium yellow color with a large white head. The aroma is light citrus and dry grainy malts. The flavor is dry and wheaty with a chewy cardboard element and a hint of citrus and spice. hopscotch (5483), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

Clear, straw-colored ale with a small, frothy, white head. Breadsy, lightly phenolic aroma. Mildly sweet, fruity flavor with soft bitterness and spice. Light-bodied with a coarse mouthfeel and gentle carbonation. Finishes spicy and dry. Thanks go out to DenverLogan for providing the bottle! ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 24, 2006 Thanks to iowaherkeye for this one. Murky golden body with a fizzy and rapidly diminishing small white head, basically no lacing. Aroma is cloves, wheat, bananas, spices. Flavor has all of these with a bubblegum like feel. Very smooth with a somewhat watery mouthfeel. Not too interesting but not flawed either. barleyPops (1079), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA
