Johns Grocery Generations White Ale

Bottle brought back from my Milwaukee vacation. Bottled in June (I assume ’05 - at least I hope). Poured a light to medium and hazy yellow color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas of stronger cloves, yeast and some lemons. Tastes of lemons, wheat, lighter spices (lot less than the aroma), and oranges. Very drinkable on a hot summer day. Thinner body for my tastes.

12 oz. bottle into tulip, purchased at Discount Liquor in Milwaukee WI sometime in 2004. Yeast, citurs hops and orange on the nose. Hazy orange is opaque, I guess, in the glass, with visible chunks of yeast. Orange velvet with a weird mealiness in the mouth; not much of a finish; surprising warming alcohol. Very weird all around, unique in my experience of witbiers (which, admittedly, is not deep). I feel out of place, as my rating will be one of the lowest here, but I stand by my 2004 taste buds.

Hazed pale yellow appearance, bubbles emanating up from below in a constant flow, with a tidy white head above. Fresh aroma, citrus and spice, perfect witbier nose. Spot on. Taste: nice, brisk meeting of hops with lips and tongue, fresh orange and lemon, blended with coriander, flavorful, but light and refreshing, the hallmark of any good witbier. Light bodied, soft, hoppy, spicy finish. Finds favor with my tastebuds. Can’t find a thing wrong with this guy.

I had this on tap at the Iowa City Brew Fest. Being a native Iowan I was pleasantly suprised with this Belgian wit replica. Hazy yellow color with a lacy head. Spicy, fruity nose with similar flavor. The orange and coriander are well balanced with the wheat. Great on a warm summer day.

Thanks to heemer77 for this one. This pours a hazy glass of light yellow with a flleeting small head of white. Lemon and spice are prominent in the aroma. The sweetness, bitterness and spicyness all stay in balance here, but don’t go as far as they could. Refreshing brew.

The aroma is pears and apricots. The appearance is a murky yellow with little head. A rather mild flavor consisting of lemons and pears. A somewhat doughy presence. This is a damn good summer beer, simple and light with some good flavors. Thanks Heemer!

This was pretty decent. That tangy ranch kind of flavor in most whites, but lots of wheat and lots o’ hops and lemon and orange zest. definitely some corriander and some of that orange fruit breezers gum scent to it. thanks heem for the bottle.

a fine brew i aquired from heemer. a very cloudy deep yellow color with a solid white head. Lots of corriander and peppercorn in the aroma to go along with the very wheaty character. Very light on the taste, has a big dough presence with definite yeast and light citrus zest. Decent, just not alot of body.
