Bottle. Pour is a hazy yellow with little head and aromas of lemon and grass. Flavor is a little bit of honey, some grass and lemon in the finish.

Thank you CanIHave4Beers for the chance to taste this unique brew. A nice friendly looking pale beer from a 12 oz short stubby twist off bottle. A Somewhat hoppy bandage hospital wit aroma. Scum for a head and a goodly amount of sediment from the bottom of the bottle. Tingly sizzly welcomed parkles on the tongue. Fresh and fun inital impressions. Some wheat beer contacts in the background. Roof of mouth personality. Taste has bitter orange hints at times. Finsh is clean and almost sterile.

12 oz bottle. The smell is lighter and fruity. A good amount of yeasty wheat and spiced orange citrus. Other aroma notes of sweet berries, fruit citrus cocktail, and light grain malt. On the pour, there was a fairly small, thin bubbled bright white head with some retention, rather light appearing in body, and yellow gold in color. The feel of this one really is not bad and I have to give Millstream some credit for making not watered down tasting or over carbonated beers as the flavors come through quite well and nicely balanced. The main issue I’ve had with some of Millstream’s beers is that the flavors themselves are rather uninteresting and don’t really give me alot to think about. I think Johns Generation is no different with a pretty standard array of flavors that I have come to expect from a white ale. Orangy citrus, yeasty wheat bread , and a slight variety of spices including coriander, with a some other subtle fruitiness. So this beer may be fairly boring to me, but it really is one of the better made wits that I have had, so I have to give Millstream some credit there for keeping to style very well and maximizing what they could out of it.

2009 Peoria International Beer Fest. Pours a golden clear color with a pretty small white head. Aroma has a lot of coriander and a light tart and sweet wheat note. Flavor has a light lemon flavor that works well with the coriander. Medium body and a somewhat frothy feeling. Overall it was an okay beer for the style, light on aroma and a quiet flavor but not a lot of cloudiness at all.

The only beer I actually drank this evening. I’ve got a special place in my heart for this one, brings back old memories of drinking "Dirty John’s" on the porch in Dubuque or on tap at Isabella’s or the Busted Lift (or the Busted Life as we called it) I don’t know what drew me so much to this beer in my younger days, perhaps it’s because I was just starting to enjoy Belgian style beers, or perhaps I was just being a "homer" playing favorite to the brewery in the proverbial neighborhood. I have to say though, I’m surprised I’ve waited four hundred some odd ratings to get around to saying anything about this one. This pours a with a nice big white head that fades, The beer is a hazy sunny yellow color. The aroma is good with spicy and floral characters and some yeastiness. The flavor is at first bitter, quite refreshing for this style of beer. a lot of the flavor seems to be focused around and playing off of the bitterness of the orange peel. There is plenty of good spiciness and some good citrus in there as well. The beer is only mildly sweet and this does not over power the beer at all. I seem to come up with a litany in my mind of what this beer is not, and for these things I love it all the more. It is not soapy, nor is it too sweet, nor is it too fruity. Everything is nicely balanced, a very good witbier indeed.

Source: 12 oz bottle from a six pack purchased at Friar Tuck’s in Peoria.
Glass: Poured into a shaker.
Appearance: Hazy gold pour with a one finger white head.
Aroma: Wheat and cloves, with faint citrus notes.
Flavor: Typical profile of a Belgian Wit. Cloves and citrus.
Palate: Medium body with good carbonation and a slightly watery mouthfeel.
Overall: Pretty good for a Belgian Wit. Drank one, the rest go to the wife.

12oz bottle. Cloudy yellow with small white head. Citrus aroma with spices, coriander, yeast, a little sour, a little pepper. Wheat, spice, yeast, citrus, lemon, a little sour, some green apple. Medium body and active carbonation. Almost solid, but there is something funny about it at the same time. Conrats John’s for being around so long!

Citrus and wheat smells are most apparent to me at first. Pours a very cloudy yellow color with thin white head. Tastes like citrus and a little like spicy beard. Palate is full of citrus.
