500 ml bottle. Black body with a fine beige head. Aroma of burnt malt, coffee, vanilla and chocolate. Flavor is as aroma, but unfortunately the body is too thin and watery. I do see the point with a flavored and easy drinkable beer at 5,5 abv but I actually don’t find it in balance this way. Still pretty decent, but not great.

Bottle. (thx Tony) Poured black, with a nice, tan head. There seems to be a deep reddish hue, but that requires a lot of light. The nose is coffee, chocolate, some vanilla, roasted/burnt malt, mocha and that bittering feeling one sense from really dark chocolate. The flavor is even more delightful, with chocolate, coffee, bitterness, weak notes of vanilla, a roasted note and some fruity hoppiness. For a beer this packed with aromas and flavors, it is quite watery, but what can one expect from a 5.5% ABV beer? This is one of those lovely beers that can both be enjoyed for a long time, and still be drank all evening. I think. At least, it was lovely. (070809)
