Commercial Description:
This delicious farmhouse ale is named for our Jack Russell, who struck by a car, bounced back in fine tenacious Jack Russell fashion, and is brewed for those of us who knocked down, have picked up, dusted off and carried on undaunted. Golden, naturally cloudy, bottle conditioned and dry hopped for a perfectly refreshing balance of spicy malts, hops and yeast. Please enjoy our beers in good health, And look both ways when crossing the street!

I poured this one into my snifter and the head was amazing. It was probably three inches high and fluffy white. The beer itself was a bright golden yellow and cloudy. The smell reminded me of ketchup but in a good way. The taste was tomatoes! The flavor was really complex. update 08/28/09 12oz bottle which must be a couple years old. Smells like a fantastic wild ale, subdued barnyard and lemon, excellent. The score remains the same however because this is awesome. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 05-25-2007 15:26:11

Bomber from redlight redlight. Very good saison. Pours a cloudy pale yellow/orange. The nose is full of wild yeast and the tart aromas of unripe berries. Earthy but floral. The flavor is mild and crisp, slightly tart, just a tad sweet, a delightful, classic saison.

Pour from the 22oz. bottle: Smells a little funky, maybe like a heffe. I think JP hit the nail on the head with what a Saison should taste like, I’m just not a fan of the style. Lemon characteristics, a little peel, cloves, grapefruit, spicy, carbonated, light. Drinkability: A little too tarty for the party. Rebuy: Undecided. #131 on 06102009, DG.

22 oz. bottle shared by shawnm213- thanks, Shawn! Pours a hazy orange-gold with a large rocky white head. Aroma of bread, straw, grass, farmhouse funk, malt, spices, light citrus. Flavor follows suit, and is sweet, spicy, and slightly tart. Crisp and refreshing, with a dry finish. Really interesting saison.

Thanks to my inlaws for bringing this back from Montana for me. Pours a cloudy bright gold with a lively, finely bubbled head. Immediately after the pour there is a lovely perfumey lemony aroma. As the head settles and the beer breathes, more yeast and spices come forward, along with a little sour funk. The palate is light and dry, with flavours of lemon, dusty yeast, spices, and a woody tartness that is not quite truly sour. Tasty and refreshing.

Golden color fluffy head. Very effervescent. Aroma has spice, yeast, green grass, and some sweetness. Flavor is grassy, spice and some citrus. Finishes dry.
