Commercial Description:
This delicious farmhouse ale is named for our Jack Russell, who struck by a car, bounced back in fine tenacious Jack Russell fashion, and is brewed for those of us who knocked down, have picked up, dusted off and carried on undaunted. Golden, naturally cloudy, bottle conditioned and dry hopped for a perfectly refreshing balance of spicy malts, hops and yeast. Please enjoy our beers in good health, And look both ways when crossing the street!

Poured from a 12oz bottle and served in a tulip. This saison poured a hazy golden orange hue with a huge, rocky, off-white head that lasted throughout the glass. Spiderweb lacing coated the entire inside of the glass. The aroma of the beer was made up of spicy, earthy hops, grass, lemon, white pepper, and some musty funk. The flavor included pepper, cloves, crisp citrus, earthy yeast notes, and a very mild funkiness. The mouthfeel was crisp and finished slightly dry with a moderate level of carbonation. A woderful aroma and an extreme drinkability made this an awsome brew. Great summer session beer!

12 oz bottle, English Pint. Accused wife of shaking bottle, as beer foamed out, blanketing counter after removing the cap. Only my cat-like reflexes saved the remainder. Pours a cloudy orange, wtih a massive and thick ivory head. Aroma dominated by citrus and yeast. Flavor is light, with some spice, citrus and yeast. Dry hopping give is a slightly bitter finish, with a creamy, albeit fizzy, palate. Drinkable beer. Probably best during the warmer months.

Bottle. Poured a nice, hazy straw color with a modern white head and a decent amount of floating yeast. Crisp citric, tart nose with a bit of funk and some spiciness. Nice tart lemons upon the entry, giving way to a slight yeastiness and a hint of bitterness from the hops. Nice, crisp low alcohol beer that I could drink regularly.

On tap at the 2007 GTMW: Lemon, vanilla, brett, and citrus in the aroma. Cloudy, turbid golden orange color. Taste is wheat, brett, lemon, with some spiciness. Nice refresing beer, very drinkable.

Batch 264 750ml bottle (new bottle shape). Served in my NB snifter after about 20 minutes in a snowbank. Nose is tart, with lemon, candi sugar, white pepper, some light barnyard and floral aromas. The aroma is not overpowering, but rather gentle while remaining complex. Cloudy straw color with a small white head and some visible sediment. This might be the first bottle of JP I opened over the sink but this was no gusher like some tend to be. The inital taste is tart lemons, vanilla, and white pepper with a light malt sweetness followed by a somewhat pronounced spiciness, lesser notes of brett, and a crisp, acidic finish. The beer is extremely drinkable. I would anticipate it will only improve as it warms up in my glass.

Thank you so much for bringing your beers to Kansas!

12 oz gift from santoslhalper. Pours a hazy light milky gold. Small white head that disappeared quickly. I can’t really describe the nose because it is so complex. A strange sour dank rye bread? I was getting saurkraut, grapefruit, and funk. Extremely light flavor with a spritzy bitterness and a nice sweet / sour contrast. I was getting a lot of rye bread. Finishes pretty dry and kind of plain, but then you get the bitter after a little delay. Not a whole lot of body. Confusing yet I was strangely compelled to keep drinking more.

Pretty potent beer for 4.5% abv but the potency lies in its flavor which has a yeasty sour punch with some lemon and citrus tones underneath the funk. The carbonation seems low yet there is a chewable woody mouthfeel which makes this one a joy to drink.

Sour and bitter, with high levels of carbonation. Nose of citrus and subdued malts in the background. Taste is like a wit or a hefeweizen on steroids. Lots of citrus and acidic tones. Peppery and very warming. Light and flavorful with a highly carbonated mouthfeel. Very nice use of a "wild" yeast in this beer.
